Ashwin Suseendran is a Jersey-born, Philadelphia-based musician, teacher, and writer. He studies Music Education/Jazz Piano as well as Geography/Urban Studies at Temple and works as a music educator at multiple local schools. He has trained in classical/jazz piano for 17 years and currently performs with various Philly groups on bass, trumpet, tabla, and mridangam. He has directed the award-winning a cappella group, Liachorus, and plays in local indie bands, Graffiti Smile and Romaine the Child. Ashwin aspires to pursue ethnomusicological research long-term - he loves to learn about music from cultures all around the world. Outside of music, he enjoys hiking, biking, and motorcycling as well as exploring Philadelphia’s burgeoning arts scene.
